Welcome to Endeavour!

Since the launch of Enterprise in 2151, Humans have come into contact with many different civilizations across the stars. Friends and enemies alike. From the Klingon Empire, to the Xindi, to the three other races (Vulcans, Andorians and Tellarites) that will eventually come together with Humans to form a peaceful commonwealth. In just five years, Earth and Starfleet have exuberantly established their presence in the region of space around them.

Not every race or empire has looked upon this expansion of ideals favourably though. In fear of what a union between these four races would mean to their vast Empire, the Romulans have sought to do anything they can to disrupt the amicable ties between Earth, Vulcan, Andoria and Tellar, and whomever else that chooses to join them.

This marked the beginning of the epic confrontations between the Coalition of Planets and the Romulan Star Empire during the Earth-Romulan War.

Each war or conflict has its heroes. Join Endeavour, the final NX-Class starship, and be a part of something that is far greater than anyone could have ever hoped for. These stories will tell the tale of how four very different races came together to form the most powerful conglomeration of peace to be seen in the entire galaxy. These stories will also speak of how Humans, alone against an unbeatable enemy, demonstrated to themselves and to their allies that even the impossible could be made possible. Be a part of the first days when the United Federation of Planets was born. Become a part of history and cement your legacy today.

Current Mission: The Eye Of Sin

While en route for the Ophiucus System, Endeavour comes across a derelict probe of unknown origin. Curious about where it came from, Captain Pearson has the probe brought aboard the ship to be examined. When the casing to the probe is opened, the crew find the most beautiful-looking gem inside. Except that it isn’t wholly beautiful; for it can open the eyes of those who touch it to information they may not want to know.

» Mission Update (November 2017)

Posted on Mon Dec 4, 2017 @ 3:07pm by Captain Edward Pearson in General News

Happy December everyone!

Thanks to everyone who worked on those extra posts last month. We completed five of them which is pretty good. I'm really happy with how we did in November, regardless that we didn't complete the mission. We are getting there though. I've started up a couple of posts which should wrap things up. I'll also need to write up a solo post when I get the chance. I know it's not ideal that this mission has taken so long, but with the birth of my daughter, things have been much busier than I thought they would be.

December means it's holiday time. I know some people have said that they've been extra busy at work. Reply to posts when you can. Try your best to get to your TAGs but don't stress out too much. Real life is more important. We'll eventually get to where we need to go.

Monthly Mission Recap
Commander Sherebrook, Major Walker and Lieutenant Ishay stopped by Captain Pearson’s ready room to inform him of what happened on Livia and to give him the alien archive they obtained from the obelisk. Pearson had Walker give the archive to Lieutenant Long so that he could begin decrypting it in the hope that there may be some information contained that could help them against the Romulans. Long recruited the helm of Endeavour’s Chief Communications Officer, Reidar Nordheim, to help him look through the data on the archive. This work took them both well into the night.

Crew Stuff
Only thing of note to mention is that Karen is still not able to get back to full time simming. Our baby is just taking up way too much time but I'm going to continue replying to posts through her when stuff comes up. If you are involved in any posts with Sherebrook, please let me know and we'll see about making some progress on those.

U.S.S. Yelchin
I think there are only one or two bios left to be completed for the Yelchin. Please get this done as soon as you can. We will be using those characters soon.

I think that's it for me this month. I hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas and that you get everything that you want from this holiday season.

» Mission Update (September / October 2017)

Posted on Thu Nov 2, 2017 @ 6:09pm by Captain Edward Pearson in General News

It has been a while since I have done one of these. Hey everyone! So as you guys are all aware, the last two months have been a bit insane. We now have a baby who doesn't seem to like sleeping. This in turn is basically not giving Karen any breaks. With regards to her, I'm not sure when she'll be able to be back full time to the sim. We are currently trying to find a way to get our daughter to sleep normally so hopefully that will make things a bit easier for us. I know that there's one post she's involved in that we're waiting on. I will be working with her so that we can get that post completed very soon. In short, I want to get this mission done this month. I know that this is something I've said often but we need to start moving forward again.

With regards to the main plot of the mission, Shannon (Ham Long) and I are working on a post that will be pushing it to the final steps. We are examining the archive which will then prompt a post with Pearson before I close up the mission with our next set of orders.

In the meantime, I know that there are posts going on but people have been a bit quieter in the last month or so. I would ask for this to change please. If you have a reason that you can't be around to reply to your TAGs, then let me know that you need to go on LOA or something. TAGs should be answered every two to three days. If they are not I will start sending you PMs to ask what's up. I'm pretty lenient overall but I really don't like when people go quiet on me without a word. Please communicate. That's all I am asking.

Monthly Mission Recap
The landing party comprised of Commander Sherebrook, Major Walker, Lieutenant Ishay, Doctor Avirett, Ensigns Tia-Jai and Nordheim found a secret underground room which housed an alien obelisk. When they approached it, the obelisk opened and a hologram of an alien woman appeared before them. She explained that the gem they’d found brought them here for two reasons: to preserve the memory of the Livian culture, and to give them warning about the Romulan Star Empire. The Livians had endured a brief four year conflict with the Romulans over a ceremonial weapon known as ch’Ladiom. The gem that the Endeavour crew came across was a part of that weapon. Just before the landing party’s time on the surface elapsed, the hologram presented them with a memory archive to take with them. When the landing party returned to Endeavour, Doctor Rigby examined them in the decon chamber for an hour before releasing them.

Crew Stuff
I have a few things to mention this month with regards to personnel changes. Firstly, Ethan who played Private McCormick has been removed from the sim for inactivity. As this is the second time this has occurred in the span of a year, he will NOT be able to rejoin the sim if he wishes to.

Solok (played by Greg) has been chosen to be the new Chief Armory Officer starting next mission. There is a post that is currently being worked on that has all of the details.

Tanet (played by Matt) is returning as well although he has decided not to pursue the Chief Science Officer position. I have therefore given it to James' character Julia Ainscow who will be coming aboard next mission via the U.S.S. Yelchin. I know that James hasn't had the chance to write with us yet, but we keep in constant communication via the Discord chat room.

I.S.S. Endeavour / U.S.S. Yelchin
I'd like to kindly ask that all bios for the NPCs on the Yelchin be done in November as we'll be encountering that crew right away in the new mission. Start working on your mirror universe characters as well. You will just need to let me know when you plan to do it via PM so that I can open up the position for you to create the character in. The I.S.S. characters aren't needed soon, but the earlier they're done the better!

That's about all for now. Let's get things back to normal. I'm happy that posts have gone out in the last two months but I know that we can do better. Keep up the good work!

» Mission Update (August 2017)

Posted on Wed Sep 6, 2017 @ 5:31pm by Captain Edward Pearson in General News

Guys! September is going to be crazy.

Hi everyone! So, August was an okay month for us. We completed three posts. If we don't finish the mission this month it'll probably come to an end in October. I'm really looking forward to bringing 'The Eye of Sin' to a close. As always, to help make that happen, please get to your TAGs as quickly as possible.

On to the crazy bit... at some point over the next three weeks, Karen (Sherebrook) and I will be welcoming our first child into the world. As such, I don't really know how things are going to go once her labour kicks in. All I ask out of everyone for this month is for you to be patient with us. Chances are I will be able to inform Steve (as I have him as a friend on facebook) and so he'll be able to let you guys know once stuff is happening.

Monthly Mission Recap
The landing party comprised of Commander Sherebrook, Major Walker, Lieutenant Ishay, Doctor Avirett, Ensigns Tia-Jai and Nordheim discovered a secret underground passage whilst scouring the rubble of a long-destroyed building. Feeling that they would find the answers they were looking for if they went down to investigate, the Commander ordered them to proceed inside. In orbit, an alien starship under telepathic control by the Romulans appeared on sensors. Chief Engineer Long and Ensign Solok devised a plan to disable the vessel in the hope that they could avoid taking any significant damage. They proceeded to deflector control to make the necessary modifications to enact their plan.

Next Mission: 'Mirror Image'
The synopsis for the next mission is currently up and as you all know from our OOC discussion posts, we're going to have a couple of new ships enter the fray. First, the U.S.S. Yelchin, a Franklin-type starship as seen in Star Trek Beyond, will be meeting up with us. I'm hoping it will become a companion ship to ours. At least half of the senior staff positions have been filled so if you're interested please sign up in the appropriate OOC post. If not, I will fill in the remaining spots with generic NPCs. The other starship that we'll be coming across next mission is the I.S.S. Endeavour. If you do intend to participate I'd like for you to make a bio of your mirror universe counterpart. It doesn't have to be as in depth as your current bios. I'm mostly looking for a paragraph for personality and one for the history as well (including all the little bits for family as alot of that will probably be cut and paste). I will be opening up the positions for that very soon. All of these characters will be NPCs.

If anyone has any questions about our next mission please do not hesitate to ask.

That's about it for August. September is going to be crazy. At least it will be for Karen and I. We have our anniversary, my birthday and a new baby this month. Plus, don't forget about Star Trek: Discovery coming out on the 24th if you're in the US and Canada, and the 25th everywhere else. I'm thinking about maybe doing some kind of online Disco watch party or something but that will depend on when the baby makes here appearance.

Have a good month everyone!

» Mission Update (July 2017)

Posted on Thu Aug 3, 2017 @ 5:56pm by Captain Edward Pearson in General News

Hello everyone! Here's your monthly sim update!

July wasn't a very good month for us. We only managed to complete one post. I expect that August should be better. Karen is due to be on maternity leave starting on Monday so she'll have more time to get to posts. There are a number of people, however, who are not getting to their TAGs on a consistent basis and it is slowing things down. I really want to bring this mission to an end as it has been going on for a bit too long now. You should be checking for replies every two to three days. I don't really enforce a posting level as I want you guys to enjoy it here and not feel like it's a chore, but if nobody is replying to posts we're not going to get anything done. So please get to your TAGs.

Monthly Mission Recap
The landing party comprised of Commander Sherebrook, Major Walker, 2nd Lieutenant Ishay, Ensigns Nordheim and Tia-Jai, and Doctor Avirett, arrived on the surface of C-121 and found it much as they expected. The planet was in ruin. There was rubble everywhere. To make matters worse, there was no clear indication as to where they needed to go. Relying on the instincts and feelings of Sherebrook and Ishay, the group headed towards the remains of building.

Crew Stuff
Only one matter of note for July is that Ethan has returned to us. He plays Private Steven McCormick one of our MACOs. Welcome back and I look forward to reading your contributions.

August is the last month of summer. Enjoy it while it lasts but remember to get to your posts too. Have a good one fellow Trekkies. Star Trek: Discovery is coming soon too. Yays!

» Change In The Rules

Posted on Sat Jul 15, 2017 @ 6:31pm by Captain Edward Pearson in Sim Announcement

Good afternoon everyone!

Please be aware that I have modified rule #3 in the sims rules under 'Players'. It now reads as the following:

3) Please keep in mind the format this sim is being written in. Players are expected to write in full sentences in the past tense. Think of it like you're reading an excerpt from a book or novel. If there is a problem with the quality of a player's post or a reply in a post, the command staff, as game managers, have the right and responsibility to amend or delete what was written so that it fits with the standards we expect for the sim.

This is a rule change that I've been thinking about implementing for a couple of weeks now. I do want to express that it is highly unlikely that I will ever remove anything that a player has written. I don't want to do that. If there is something that's written which needs to be removed, I'll always talk with the player first before something like that is done. Sometimes I end up just moving it to another point in the post. I expect this rule will mostly come into effect to polish joint posts before they are sent out. I'm not an expert in writing, however, sometimes there are sentences that might just need a little help to make it fit in with the rest.

If you have any questions or comments regarding this rule, feel free to do so and the command staff will answer to the best of its ability.
